One from the "Local Tectonic" series, this one rolling with the main cooler green and neutral tone vibe complemented by a nice textural surface, making its smaller 15cm x 15cm canvas-size come alive.
This has a sweet area of negative space offsetting the textural aspect, with the overall piece having an unsettled sense of movement (somehow) in the 2-D, as if the earth is shaking. The size might be smaller but it packs a punch.
* A note on my "Local Tectonic Series"; this is a style of painting that has pre-occupied me most of the past year or so. These paintings seek to give an impression of the Australian landscape, but do so by not being "descriptive" or figurative. I want these to be works where people can look and find their own meanings within, shifting perhaps each day, evoking a sense of something they may not be able to necessarily put their finger on.
With the sturdy oak frame, they can be hung on a wall or be freestanding on a bench or table etc. All of these come with wire hanging set-up on the back, as per photo.
